Overview

The GLOBE Learning Expedition was held June 30 through July 4, 1998. The Learning Expedition was an opportunity for teams of GLOBE students from around the world to meet one another, learn together, and showcase the results of their GLOBE projects. The event was co-sponsored by GLOBE Finland and the GLOBE Program and hosted by GLOBE Finland in the historic city of Helsinki.

In addition to the student presentations, special events included an overnight camping trip to a wooded area in Finland. At the conference center, an Internet Cafe featured web chats and virtual presentations from GLOBE students participating electronically. An Exhibit Hall included displays from GLOBE Countries and GLOBE schools around the world.
